PropaneLV

They say the best time to get to know someone is during their struggle.  This is when we as humans, are at our purest state.  You can see the hunger, feel the pain and anticipate the success.  The belief in achievement outweighs the fear of failure.  Not everyone has the confidence to open the blinds for others to witness potential embarrassment or defeat.  Only the great welcome a first hand look on their journey.

As always, I like to use this website as a platform for up and coming talent or as I like to call it, the Young and Hungry.  Earlier today I stumbled across a musician named PropaneLV, a talented dude from a small college town on the West coast.  He is quickly creating a buzz throughout the hip-hop world with his YouTube covers of popular songs such as, 2 Chainz's -  "No Lie", Bieber's - "Boyfriend" and for some cinnamon rolls, he even covered The Wanted's - "Glad You Came" at his roommate's request.

His talents don't stop at the quick changes he creates on his covers, PropaneLV also has a handful of originals.  The YouTube channel, iampropane allows you to watch the videos; "Blackout", "Weeknd Romance", and "Rearview".

There is no question Propane is on the verge of making a name for himself.  His YouTube covers follow the footprints of artists such as Mike Posner and Karmin while his originals allow him to create his own path to success.  A path I am anxious to follow.

His hunger is prevalent.  His talent is obvious.  His confidence doesn't seem to have a ceiling.  And it seems his music is finally finding the right set of ears to take him to the next level.  PropaneLV has the opportunity to fulfill his wildest dreams.  I just hope his will to succeed only continues to grow as everything he has worked so far for is in sight.

Enjoy this journey to the stardom, there won't be a better feeling in the world.

OU Spotlight: Baliee Moore

The best part of "growing up" is watching your peers pursue their dreams.  The most fulfilling is supporting them on their journey.  At Ohio University there is never a sense of envy or jealousy.  It is a college town full of students attempting to find their way by creating their own path to success.  Everyone has different goals.  Everyone has different ambitions.  And everyone is willing to introduce themselves to a fellow Bobcat, even if it is the end result of an accidental phone call.

A year ago I received a random voicemail from a girl and her friends.  It wasn't a drunk dial.  It wasn't a prank phone call.  It was simply a butt dial... from a random number.  The girls were on their way to the gym as I had the privilege of listening in on some real "girl talk" as they confessed their annoyance with a friend.  The voicemail intrigued me enough to text her back.

Within minutes we were "lol-ing" and "haha-ing" enough that we became Facebook official (friends... not a relationship status).  6 months later this happened....

I, along with 590,000 other people found out she could rap.  Bailee Moore became an overnight YouTube sensation.  Currently approaching 600,000 views, her first freestyle flooded Facebook walls, Twitter timelines and college websites across the country. Since then it has been exciting to watch Bailee's career take off.  While attending Ohio University and working at the same bar I spent most of my time in Athens, Bailee continues her musical career.  Not once have I sensed her question the endless opportunities because the fear of failure.  She remains confident in herself as she balances life as a student as well as a musician. And as you can see from her latest video, she is doing a damn good job at juggling both worlds.
I can't say I am close with Bailee, to be honest our communication never really went further than our first conversation.  But there is something about her that makes you feel like she's the girl down the hall with superstar potential.  She has proven herself in the classroom, behind the bar, on YouTube, in the studio, on-stage and soon enough she will prove herself to larger audiences. Ohio University is full of talented individuals, but only those who are fearless turn that talent into something special. Bailee is setting the bar for other Bobcats as she is well on her way to finding her place on your iPod.
